Since National Dance Day is this Saturday, I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you a little more about myself and my dance journey through the years!
Like many other little girls, I started baby ballet at the age of three. Also like many other little girls, I cried every. single. day. (so I’ve been told). In fact, I wouldn’t even go on stage at my first recital. But something happened a few years later that has led me to where I am today. Dancing became my passion. The studio wasn’t a scary place my mom would bring me and shove me into class. It became my second home and my teachers became my second family.
Eventually, dance became more than just a hobby for me. I knew at a young age that I could never give it up. The more I learned, the more I loved it. The awesome thing about dance is you will never stop learning and growing as a dancer. There is ALWAYS room to grow. Even as a teacher, I still continue to learn and find new inspiration every day and that is why I absolutely LOVE it!
Now, I can’t tell you all about my dance journey without sharing some throwback pictures! I bet my mom would have never guessed I would turn this passion into a career when she signed me up for that first class. I am so grateful for all the people who I’ve learned from and who have instilled in me this passion for dance.
I love that National Dance Day brings awareness to this art form that I hold so close to my heart, and I love that it gets people up and moving and dancing for at least one day. I hope everyone can celebrate National Dance Day even if it’s in the comfort of your own home. Get up, get moving, and DANCE!
